A diocesan museum is a museum for a ecclesiastical diocese, a geographically-based division of the Christian Church.

The Lower Austria Museum, formerly the Lower Austria State Museum, is the national museum for the state of Lower Austria and covers the fields of history, art and nature. It is located in St. Pölten in Lower Austria.

Galerie Maringer, This city needs a gallery,” said Dr. Karlheinz Maringer already in 1977 – and since then he has brought art and artists to St. Pölten, first in his “Salon for Art and Communication” at Riemerplatz, where Kumpf and Rainer exhibited and read HC Artmann. From 1985, the Maringer Gallery then revived the “fine” Schreinergasse with artistically designed shop windows. Exhibitions and vernissage parties quickly became a cultural meeting place for St. Pöltner.
